Tree Essence started business in Devonport, Auckland, New Zealand in the mid 90s. Tony Parker, the founder of Tree Essence, noticed a niche market offering clients an alternative style of furniture being manufactured at the time.  Having finished a 4 year cabinetmaking apprenticeship his Devonport based business experienced high growth.

Tony Parker moved to Waiheke Island after being commissioned to work on the development of Glenora Estate.

Innovative designs and quality workmanship soon gained momentum in circles on Waiheke and Auckland and a purpose built factory was built to accommodate the high demand.
